Zanjan to host Fajr Film Festival

One of the movie theaters in the Iranian province of Zanjan has been scheduled to play host to the 35th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.

This edition of Iran’s Fajr Film Festival will be held at Bahman Cinema Theater in the city of Zanjan, capital of Zanjan Province, along with several other cities across the country.

The cinema will display 16 titles of the festival during two show times every day.

Zanjan is located 298 kilometers northwest of Tehran and approximately 125 kilometers from the Caspian Sea.

Fajr Festivals are held annually in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn), which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The screening sessions will last for 8 days from February 2 - 9.
